the next time i had to run away

i’ve had so many nightmares

since i made my choice to go

you show up at night so many times

and i’m glad that you don’t know

every time i close my eyes

i hope for you

even though i know it’ll hurt

still i pray for one more touch

run my hands through your hair

i’ve watched you from across the room

i remember your cold stare
